What 20kg gets you

What 20kg a month looks like

20kg makes around 1,100 cups. Here’s what that means for you.

  • Café

About 43 drinks a day, 26 days a month. At £3.50 a drink, that’s around £3,889 in sales from £380 of Unity Origin. Coffee is roughly 10p in every pound you take.

  • Shop, deli or bakery

Serve coffee at the counter and stock 250g and 500g bags on the shelf. Customers who like your coffee can take it home.

  • Workplace

Enough for 25 people drinking two cups a day, every working day. Better than the instant in the cupboard, and about 34p a cup.

How AVN makes it work

  1. Every farm mapped

Each farm is registered on AVN Earth with its plot boundaries mapped and its land checked.

  2. Every lot tested

Farmers’ coffee is cupped and graded before we agree a price, and only 80+ coffee becomes Unity Bean.

  3. Processed with care

Our farmers wash and dry the coffee to one quality standard, and every step is recorded.

  4. Shipped and roasted here

AVN brings the coffee from Mubende to Colchester, insured, and we roast it to order.

  5. Farmers paid on every sale

Farmers receive a share of every sale, never less than the price agreed at testing.

  6. Proof on every bag

The Unity Receipt shows the lot’s journey, test results and what reached the farmers.

Wholesale questions

Why a 12-month subscription?

It lets us plan harvests and shipments with our farmers, and that planning is what keeps the price low. Your price stays fixed for 12 months from your first delivery. Detailed subscription terms are available on request.

Can I mix coffees?

Yes. Your 20kg minimum can be split across House, Origin and Reserve however you like.

What if I need more than 20kg?

Order as much as you need. The same per-kilo price applies.

Can I try it before signing up?

Yes. Register for a tasting in January 2027, or order samples to try on your own machine. 1kg samples: £20 for Unity House and £22 for Unity Origin. Other coffees on request. Lock the founding price by 19 December. No payment and no commitment until you’ve tasted and approved the coffee. Your 12 months start from your first delivery.

Whole bean or ground?

Both. Choose whole bean, or ground for espresso, filter or cafetière.

What is Robusta like?

Rich, full-bodied and naturally lower in acidity, with a strong crema. It holds up well in milk drinks and is great for espresso.
